Use AI carefully

AI outputs can be wrong
Large language models and other AI tools make confident-sounding mistakes. Verify any AI-generated output — numbers, citations, legal references, contract terms, medical information, and code — before relying on it in your business.
Don't put private data in public tools
Do not paste confidential customer, client, patient, employee, or financial information into consumer AI tools (free ChatGPT, free Claude, free Gemini, etc.) unless you have reviewed that vendor's data-handling terms and your own legal/compliance obligations. Many free tiers may use your inputs to improve their models.
Industry-specific risks
- Medical / dental: HIPAA applies. Use a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) and HIPAA-eligible AI configurations.
- Law firms: Confidentiality and unauthorized practice rules apply. Confirm AI outputs and citations.
- Real estate: Fair-housing language matters. Review AI-generated listing copy and marketing.
- Government: Public-records and procurement rules may apply to AI inputs and outputs.
